ABOUT RICHMOND

Built from practical experience of a fragmented system.

Built from practical experience of a fragmented system.

Richmond Statutory Consultancy was created from direct experience of how difficult it can be for legitimate individuals and businesses to identify, understand, and correct adverse data once it has entered the AML/KYC screening ecosystem.

What may initially appear to be a simple data-accuracy problem can involve screening providers, data brokers, adverse-media sources, archives, privacy rights, institutional compliance teams, and multiple layers of information sharing. Richmond exists to bring structure, evidence, and strategy to that problem.

SOURCE → SCREENING → INSTITUTION → CORRECTION

WHY RICHMOND EXISTS

Because the problem often sits between traditional advisers.

Adverse-data and AML/KYC friction rarely sits neatly inside one professional discipline. A solicitor may address the legal issue; a privacy adviser may focus on a data request; a reputation firm may focus on public search results; and a broker may understand the commercial impact. Yet the client can still be left trying to understand how data moves between sources, screening systems, and institutions. Richmond was created to provide a joined-up approach.

The objective is not noise. It is clarity, evidence, and the strongest realistic route forward.

PRACTICAL REMEDIATION EXPERIENCE

The methodology was developed by working through the system itself.

Richmond’s approach was developed through practical remediation work involving screening providers, data brokers, adverse-media sources, public and archived records, Data Subject Access Requests, rectification, accuracy, erasure and restriction requests, complaint and escalation processes, institutional compliance enquiries, and evidence building. The system is not uniform: effective remediation requires understanding where data originates, who controls it, which challenges create value, how evidence should be presented, and when correction, suppression, contextualisation, or better institutional positioning is the strongest realistic outcome.

OUR DIFFERENCE

Specialist remediation rather than generic reputation management.

Evidence-led — begin with facts, chronology, source material, and documentary position. System-aware — consider how information may move between public sources, screening providers, data brokers, and institutions. Outcome-focused — improve the client’s real-world position rather than simply generate correspondence. Selective — not every source should be challenged. Institutionally aware — understand how compliance teams are likely to view the record. Discreet — handle sensitive matters without unnecessary exposure.

OUR PRINCIPLES

Discretion — sensitive information is handled carefully and only where necessary.
Accuracy — understand the factual position before challenging the accuracy of others.
Proportionality — focus on justified, useful action rather than the most aggressive route.
Credibility — submissions must remain factually credible; Richmond does not support misleading narratives or attempts to conceal legitimate current risk information.

PRACTICAL OUTCOMES

Success is not defined by one outcome alone.

Complete removal may be achievable in some matters, but it is not the only meaningful result. Successful remediation may include inaccurate information corrected, a profile amended, outdated classifications removed, adverse visibility reduced, source links neutralised, third-party profiles suppressed, nil-search outcomes where appropriate, stronger evidence for future onboarding, a clearer institutional explanation, or a better documented residual-risk position.

Outcomes depend on the facts, legal basis, source material, and independent third-party decisions. No particular result is guaranteed.

WORKING ALONGSIDE ADVISERS

A specialist role within a wider advisory relationship.

Richmond may work directly with clients or alongside solicitors, accountants, wealth advisers, family offices, brokers, compliance consultants, and other professional advisers. The aim is not to replace the existing adviser; Richmond focuses on the adverse-data, screening, remediation, and institutional-positioning component of the matter.

CLEAN SLATE

Richmond’s flagship remediation service.

Audit → Remediation → Institutional Positioning → Shield

Audit understands the factual position and likely sources of friction. Remediation pursues evidence-led correction, challenge, suppression, or escalation. Institutional Positioning creates a clearer documented explanation for due diligence. Shield maintains oversight where screening exposure remains.
